HomeServicesSafety Valve TestingBasic Principles

For testing and adjusting spring loaded safety and relief valves under full pressure in a built in condition a special process was developed.

The physical basic priciple is:

P (bar) = F ( N ) / A ( cm^2)

( pressure = force / area)

<The variable in question is P  (set pressure).
<
The area  A is determined from the valve data (averaged seat area).
<
The variable  F is measured directly on the safety valve spindle.

During the test the system pressure p2 (bar) and the displacement of the valve spindle s (mm) are supplementary recorded.

The variables mentioned above are simultaneously processed in a computer. For every tested valve a test report will be handed over to the customer. Our equipment requires a power supply of 220V/50Hz and an axial free space of only 500 mm above the valve spindle.
